"Is this my Life?" was the question that began to turn my trajectory around. I still vividly remember. It was my 30th Birthday and I was driving back to, our family business, at the time, Fiaba Italian Restaurant.
On the outside, I may have been perceived as successful, however, it wasn't the case on the inside. I was miserable! I'd lost focus, I'd lost myself, and I'd lost the joy.
Life was about to get worse. I went from my marriage breaking down, into an abusive relationship, with a mindset that was not doing me any favours. I was struggling to stay afloat and trying to do the best for my kids. My mental health had spiralled out of control, facing many a day with suicidal thoughts!
Three years later, after being intentional with my thinking and mindset, I felt like I had begun to awaken. I was ready to believe, to dream and be brave.
Here's what I did:
Take the limits off, remove the blinkers, dig deep and allow your mind to access your heart and record it! In this case, I just typed and typed and typed, without reading it back, I just let myself go. I found typing the best because I could get it down faster as my brain started to race a 100 miles a minute.
Read it back to yourself, out loud, to begin to create the vision of your desired destiny (I must say at this point I thought "Well that's pretty fair fetched, but heck what have I got to lose? I'm gunna give it a shot")
Start to form an action plan, starting with the Big Future Goal and then working backwards from there creating a range of long to short term goals, then, finally that week's Action Plan.
Today I am 51 and still working away at it. There have been some roadblocks along the way, some interruptions, and distractions, however it has all gone into my learning bank. The 'learning' never stops!
So How about You?
What happens when you ask yourself "Is this my Life?"
Is it answered with excitement and hope, or are you like I was, in despair?
